The Public Jewish Education Center, Eitan, works for EVERYONE who is interested in Jewish culture! Eitan is located in YESOD’s beautiful and comfortable library, where events are held regularly in a variety of formats, including cultural and educational programs on a diverse range of topics.
Regular activities at Eitan include: group language courses for various levels, klezmer musical master classes and master class in ceramics.
One of the most interesting project of Eitan is Lehava – a ten-month leadership program, for participants aged 22-35. Since 2007, Lehava (Hebrew for «flame») is a yearly program that prepares future leaders among Jewish youth in St. Petersburg. It combines academic study with unique trainings in personal growth, but most importantly it provides the possibility of launching your own project with the support of an experienced mentor.
Our 200 alumni have already brought more than seventy important projects to realization all over Russia. They are actively engaged in the Jewish community and ready to take responsibility for its future.
The Lehava Junior is leadership program for Jewish teenagers 13-15 years old. The program includes: study of Jewish traditions and culture, leadership, volunteering, training in the creation and implementation of a project in the Jewish community.
